She will end, with the help of the Left, as another instance of A Redeemed Soul who learned how to overcome her past sins. America loves a reformed sinner. But, that said, what she admitted was still damning.
That's more or less what I get out of it, too. Whether or not she found Jesus in the end, the problem is that many years ago, she was...
mean-spirited
clearly biased against white people
harboring a victim complex
exercising a power trip
... and no superior commented on it, reprimanded her for it, fired her for it? Surely she did not change her ways after screwing only one person?
Our farmers are supposed to come to people like this for help? People like this are responsible for regulating business? People like this are being paid with my tax dollars to use power in such petty ways?
I am delighted that she saw the error of her old ways, just delighted. I'm sure that if I were arbitrarily abusive of my customers of one race or another, my employers would give me all the time I'd need to see just how wrong I was, and continue to employ me for 24 years, eventually promoting me to a position of considerable power. It's the American Dream, come true.
Footnote: Strom Thurmond changed his ways. The Left does not love *just any* reformed sinner.
a unique new position at the agency
Maybe she'll be the Typical-White-Person Czar, since she has such great background dealing with them.
Also, I had NPR on while I drove home(because Hewitt is out :I), and they had a whole story about how "the conservative media" has often bent the truth in recent times, citing specifically the Van Jones bit and "the Jeremiah Wright flap". Their guest was Jonathan Alter, author of "The Promise: Obama, Year One", who behaved quite differently on NPR from his appearance on Dennis Prager's show earlier this year.
Pot, meet kettle.
I'm in with Jamis for this one; it's totally planted. Breitbart has laid down with pigs before(e.g. that O'Keefe guy who busted ACORN and was himself busted attempting to wiretap Sen. Mary Landrieu's office), but nothing that he himself has done has struck me as dishonest - which releasing a video edited out of context certainly is. Somewhat convenient, too, that the farmer she cites came forward immediately to her defense, and says that she was all sugar and lollipops to deal with.
Edited because I clicked "Post" when I meant to click "Preview".
