But will they stick to their guns if the fuds threaten to cut off all that "free" money? ...

MT House measure would change gun rules

Posted: Feb 16, 2009 07:58 AM CST

Updated: Feb 16, 2009 11:46 AM CST

Firearms manufactured and used in Montana would become exempt from federal regulation under a bill being considered in the Montana House.

The State House voted in favor of House Bill 246 in second reading on Saturday, and the bill could have the effect of releasing Montana gun owners from federal registration requirements.

The measure applies to firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition that are made and sold in the state.

The bill's sponsor says his proposal is more about states' rights than about gun rights.

Didn't they do it for a while with the speed limit thing?
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

For a while...

But then they decided they needed the money from the FEDS.

So IIRC they made the speed limit 55 MPH. Set some limit where there state troopers gave tickets - warnings and only charged a fine if the car was going over 100 or 110 or so and then it was just a $10 fine.

My top end numbers may be high but I'm pretty sure about the $10 ticket.

FEDS had no choice but to turn over the moola since MT had a 55 MPH speed limit.

75 MPH actually, but yeah.  It was 65 before we went to Reasonable and Prudent.

Reasonable and prudent should be our watchwords; instead, we get unreasonable and prurient laws passed down from Mt. DC on tablets of stone.
My initial thought [for your next purchase] was to get a .22 lr or .22 mag but as you have one or five, I’d advise you purchase Spell Check---

IMHO it did not work out too well.  I think Darwin should be allowed to claim the stupid, but those wrecks were expensive for us tax payers.  Way too many of them were out of state folks hitting the Montanabahn with no regard to how fast was actually safe or road conditions.

will die in the senate  again
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.
