Kick. ass.
Chicago traders boo the president and plan.

CNBC Video on the Stimulus Package.  They are finally starting to see, and tell, the truth.

That was sweet.  I needed that.  Thank you.

I love it when people recognize economic problems and even know the names! (i.e. Moral Hazard)
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

I ran across that this morning and was taken aback by that guy's vehemence.  He was almost driven to apoplexy by his opposition to the bailout, unable to form a coherent sentence at times.
It would be interesting to hear the opinions of traders on other floors.  I'd bet they would be very similar.

If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

Obama and his socialist cadre may have lit the fuse for a national backlash.  I'm looking for people to begin filling out W-4's stopping paying the .fedgov only the very minimum tax.

I'm really, really hoping that some of our Democrat legislators are more patriots than they are socialist patsies and jump ship soon.

They're snuffling at the trough. They favor social engineering and control. They are the enemy.

Sigh.  Sadly, I also heard of "specialists" who can teach you how to milk the whole mortgage assistance for maximum gain.  For a price.

Americans are used to Bad And Crazy Stuff happening "elsewhere."  Right now they are a bit in shock, still trying to get their minds around the enormity of what is being done to their nation by a compatively small band--in the thousands--of determined America-killers.  We are going to see more explosions of anger and the general frustration and vehemence of that frustration mount.

Yeah, but it's hard.  There's all these dates and names and lessons to learn.  It's way easier to get 51% of the people to legislate themselves goodies from the other 49%.

Comment on news forum. Are Americans waking up to what they did in November?

Comment by Alana
February 20th, 2009 at 5:19 pm

My husband and I work hard. We pay our taxes. We are paying down our debt, saving money for our son’s education, and for our retirement. In addition, we are not only current on our mortgage…we’ve been paying extra to get ahead. This hasn’t been easy, but our goals are important to us. To meet those goals, we have made sacrafices. We buy our clothes at Goodwill, go to the library instead of the bookstore, drive old cars, clip coupons, shop at garage sales, eat at home etc. But we have been very happy. On the flip-side, there is a gal I work with who goes shopping at the mall almost every day, puts her lunch on credit cards, is always wearing new clothes, told me she sometimes has “forgot” to pay her mortgage…and is currently going through bankruptcy and fears foreclosure. WHY DO I HAVE TO HELP FOLKS LIKE HER? WHY? WHY? WHY? Tell me please, because I want to understand how anyone can justify taking money that is meant for my son’s college fund to pay off her debt!

Because your fellow Americans blindly elected a man who is quoted in radio interviews as talking about focusing on "redistributive" strategies, who is following Saul Alinsky's playbook, Alana.

Get angry. Because that's the only thing that can halt it.

I'm not sure about deserving, but the point is there. The problem is not limited to a small group of politicians, it's a systemic problem.

I think it's just a lesson we've never learned ourselves.  We've seen socialism destroy nation after nation, but always on TV, filtered through a liberal news-media, and in the comfort of our own homes.  It's exactly like college hippies protesting the evils of America, while living in comfort on their parents dime in the very country they claim to hate.  They have the freedom to say whatever they want and believe whatever they want, only because better men/women and better producers have built the country they leech off of.  Our own comfort and luxury has isolated us from the facts about how the real world works.  I've got a feeling that the folly of socialism is something that can only be learned by standing in the bread line for 4 hours yourself, not just watching someone else do it on TV.

There's no doubt too many Americans are fools and deserve what they are getting.

But by no means all are, and it is that group that needs to get militant.  It doesn't matter whether they comprise 10 per cent or 49 per cent.  We need to refuse to play.

Let Obama re-name his America...New Kenya.  We'll keep what the Founding Fathers gave us.
