Question for Oleg
« on: January 04, 2006, 09:47:41 AM »
What is the email spam blocker you're using?   The one that requires a human to read some characters and type them in before the email will go to you?  How do you like it?

Mozilla Thunderbird does a fair job of recognizing and trashing spam once it's received, but my spam load is increasing to an unacceptable degree.  I'm looking for another tool.

Thanks.

Take a look at popfile (http://popfile.sourceforge.net).  I've got it running on my Windows box at work, and it seems to filter out the crap a lot better than Thunderbird.

I use http://spamarrest.com -- well worth the money. My spam:real count went from 4:1 to 1:25 in favor of real emails. They web interface is slow but tech support is good and service reliable. I use mostly popmail to read it (Thunderbird)

That is like buying an hour-long CD where only five seconds of the music is good. That is like buying a Primus CD.
Hey!  Take that back.  Nothing wrong with Primus.  Now that you mentioned them I'll have to break out my old CDs, I haven't listened to them in over a year.
