What's going on with the stock on the older guy? Kind of looks like it attaches to the lower part of the lower receiver.
What's wrong is he also has no rear sight.

It's one of those goofy bump fire stocks.
-
you mean, other than private citizens having to protect the military from violence because the government wont allow the military to protect themselves?
nothing
-
They're both facing the same direction. Also, who's in overwatch?
(Yes, I know, it's for the picture, and so is the low ready position.)

Looks like some kind of holo sight under the older guys left hand.
-
The first two guys I don't see a problem with other than some interesting things about the old guys rifle. My pic though, probably illegal AOW (maybe he has a tax stamp... maybe), crocs, and no rear sight. Not the image or person we want. If he could afford a tax stamp he could afford an MBUS...

Is that something mounted under the barrel out past the front sight post?

I don't see a front sight, either.
If you really wanted to be a one-man (or two-man) security force for your local recruiting office, would it possibly make more sense to sit in a car, some place with a good field of view/fire?

Nope, that's a Sig brace on the back of that thing. So technically a pistol until he shoulders it (because again, the BATFEces got all asswipey and decided that it wasn't an SBR until they decided it was.)
ETA:  Of course, that doesn't account for the VFG, which is a no-no on a pistol. So yeah, you're right. AOW... That's what I get for not looking closely.... And yeah, the lack of any apparent sights makes me wonder if he's just gonna go all gangsta aiming and hence doesn't feel the need for sights.

Too much poodle shooter, not enough Man Gun.

You don't need sights if you have a bump stock.

Second pic, take your damn booger hook off the damn trigger.

It would also be nice if he wouldn't nap on guard duty.

Not quite.
In the definition of an AOW, it mentions weapon capable of being concealed. The ATF has long held that a weapon over 26" in over all length is not "concealable" (Unless you actually conceal one, but that's a different story.)
Most AR pistols, with a ~10" barrel and sig brace get over the 26" mark, so adding a VFG doesn't make an AOW, it converts the pistol to a regular title 1 "firearm". (measure twice). Same deal as that birds head grip and 14" barreled shotgun you see floating around.
The particular AR on Mr. Day-Glo looks long enough to be legal, but without a measuring stick I wouldn't swear to it. Nothing forgives the Crocs though.
ETA: Link to OEM firearm (http://www.franklinarmory.com/PRODUCTS_XO-26.html) with the discussed features and a determination letter explaining the legalese.

Needs a Mosin, with a 2 foot pokey thing on the end.

That shirt.

Personally, I was wondering where the spare mags and back-up sidearms were for all three...

This.

No Subaru Brat parked out front?

Actually that shirt's not a bad idea. People who are doing this of their own volition should be wearing something very distinctive so they can be easily identified to police if a situation erupts. As in "the civilian overwatchers are wearing fluorescent green T shirts!"

Sorry, but he's actually working very hard to make sure that does not happen. Left hand over extended and indexed trigger finger to prevent "creep".
I swear, it seems all of you get your tactical training at brick-and-mortar schools with recognized instructors, as opposed to us Souper Extreem Tier Two (one better than Tier One :P) Operators who pick up tactics and techniques by osmosis over the internet. Read it once and we can perform it flawlessly while being attacked from the front by a flamethrower and from the rear by our mother in law.
stay safe.

It looks like UnderArmor Guy might have a spare magazine in his right cargo pocket.
Hard to tell if Scowling Guy with the right-offset tubular sight has one or not. Could be it's in his back pocket which is why he's scowling.
BTW - does anybody else see a resemblance between Scowling Guy and Jeff Dunham's character Walter? I'd think a day away from the nagging machine, and the opportunity to play with gunz, would make him happy.
stay safe.

Oh good, one of them has an ND. Guy sounds like a real winner - it isn't his first rodeo.
Reed was convicted of the same offense in 2013, and was fined $50, court records show.

Oh dear deity of choice ...
Christopher A. Reed, 28, of Lancaster, was charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits, and was issued a summons to appear in Fairfield County Municipal Court on Tuesday, according to the police incident report.
Reed told police that he was holding his rifle outside the recruitment center when someone asked if he could take a look at it. Reed agreed, and while he was trying to clear the ammunition from the weapon, he accidentally fired one shot into the asphalt pavement.
So all an enterprising terrorist has to do is walk up to the guard and ask to see his rifle ... and the guard will willingly unload it and hand it over? Somebody needs to take a replay on Perimeter Security 101.
