Where did this thing come from?

Why does everyone say it now?

Can we deport the people who say it?

Your question was a minute too long.

Where did this thing come from?

No clue, first I've heard of it.

Why does everyone say it now?

So far, you're the only one.

Can we deport the people who say it?

I'm OK with that, where would you like to be deported to?

Politicians and bureaucrats are considered productive if they swarm the populace like a plague of locust, devouring all substance in their path and leaving a swath of destruction like a firestorm. The technical term is "bipartisanship".

Guess1: Related to "minutemen?"

Guess2: Related to "In a New York Minute?"

In what context do you hear it?

First I've heard of it.  But then I don't get around much.
WHATEVER YOUR DEFINITION OF "INFRINGE " IS, YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING IT.

If I'm doing something and someone comes up wanting to talk, I will raise my finger and say "Just a minute" and finish whatever had me occupied so I could finish my thought process. Also, if someone is doing something and I see they are about to screw up or I have a better way to do it, i might say "Just a minute, what if you did XYZ instead?"
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!

Hang on a sec, and I'll look it up.

Just a figure of speech, probably first popularized in hip hop culture. I heard it a lot 10-12 years ago in the Navy. That it just now reaches Missouri is little surprise, I think 80s big hair is just now on the way out there.

I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.
