Virginia in the Spotlight for Non-Resident CCW Permits
« on: September 03, 2012, 03:45:30 PM »
I found it interesting that they're focusing on Virginia, versus FL or UT or AZ, which are by FAR the most popular non-resident permits. Also interesting was the article attempting to highlight that the test questions are all "gimmes". It's funny to me, because the handgun safety certificate we have to get to buy a handgun in CA has the same "gimme" questions, so technically the Virgina questions are as difficult as those in one of the hardest states to buy a handgun in.

It's also the fact that PA changed their law to require that you had to sign-up renew in person for a LTC.   They lost quite a bit of Non-residents that way.  Like me.  I got a VA Non-Res because it was $100, a set of fingerprints and copy of my Hunter Ed certificate.  And it was good in all the states I had planned to travel to/through this summer.

I might also get an AZ one as well.  I've got the packet, just need to see what states it will get me for $60.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

At least for Texans, AZ is the new FL. Cheaper, quicker, and you get Nevada.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

Virginia.  Interesting.  I'll keep that in mind.
In thy presence is fulness of joy.
At thy right hand pleasures for evermore.
