I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.

Maybe not an AWACS.

As an Arabic Airborne Linguist, I'd wager he's going either Rivet Joint or Combat Sent.  Get used to living in a tent city, although Souda Bay was nice...

Congratulations.  Thanks for joining.

Never on active duty, although I attended Chemical School in Ft. McClellan through my work with the county and Federal government and still have my diplomas from the Basic Officers Chemical Course and a number of other courses.  Currently married to a retired chief petty officer (HMC (SW)) with twenty years in.    Mrs. Chief disagrees with me that I should get some sort of medal for living with a retired CPO.

Well, I can update ... as of tomorrow ... USN, Retired ... 26 years of active duty (not counting the past three months on terminal leave).  Where DID the years go?  No more deployments!  (Mixed feelings about that; some unfinished business for me ...)

Congratulations, Senior Chief!  Many thanks for your years of service Haze Gray and Underway!  Are you going to be looking for work in the civilian sector?

Hey, MillCreek, I'm gonna sponge off the wife for a bit, do some writing, lots of shootin' (we still need to do another W. WA shooting get-together) ... It's gonna be great to be around for the opening of fishing season and an entire hunting season ...
