FWIW, Missouri has towns named Japan, Cuba, Mexico, Paris, Versailles, Louisiana, Cabool (named after Kabul, Afghanistan), and my Dad's hometown, La Plata.

But as town names go, I prefer Cherry Box.

There's a Mexico, Pennsylvania, in Juniata County. Little backwater, really, but part of my old stomping grounds.

Biggest claims to fame were a foundry that cast aluminum parts and Nancy Kulp -- Ms. Hathaway of the Beverly Hillbillies -- lived there
