Southern states are great!

I leave the NE for vacation.  First day in VA I get invited to a steel match.  Great people- great shooters- great turn-out.  I guess I finally found America.

Up outside of Louisa County.  Went to visit a fellow vet for Veteran's Day and ended up sticking around for Saturday and shooting.  I think it was the Black Creek range or something similar to that.

Gordonsville, maybe?  I used to shoot there when I lived in Louisa and worked at the power plant there.

LOL.  Okay from VA I went further South.  Stayed a night in SC.  Very nice people there also.

Now I'm in FL which seems to be strangely rather Northernish.  :-X  Must be all my NE counterparts polluting the area.

No shooting yet down here.

Once you leave Northern Virginia, Virginia is most definitely southern and my Lynchburg-native wife would take great offense if you tried to tell her she wasn't a southerner.

My mistake.  Lived in the DC area before I moved out where I am now.

And I "existed" in SW GA before I moved to DC. I won't give the honor of calling those two years in Albany "living."

Born in CT and lived most of my life there except for a short period in CA after I got out of the Corps.  Left CA in 1980 because that's when it really started to get expensive and returned home.  Can't say I love CT but I'm stuck for at least another 33 months or so.

We had a bunch of my wife's managers here over the weekend.  One of them sat next to a real southern belle.  Her and her husband own a horse farm outside Houston.  Big old money.  Amber has an open invitation to come visit them and I don't doubt the ladies sincerity.  Southern hospitatlity is alive and well.
