We have a Mini Aussie, about 10 years old. (she's starting to have arthritis and other joint problems but they don't slow her down much yet) Whenever I take her to the dog park, people want to know what breed she is because she looks like the world's largest Pomeranian. (about 30 pounds) As far as I know she's a pure breed, and she has a herding instinct. I'm just wondering how they miniaturized the breed in the first place; did they just select small statured dogs for breeding stock, or did maybe start with a Aussie and Pomeranian or Pekinese cross and then bred Aussie runts back in? And then bred those offspring until they had a stable and healthy breed
Her bark sounds exactly like a Pom, just a little louder.
And she barks and barks the same way once she gets going. That makes me curious even more than just here appearance.
