grammar question. If'n I was gonna say come up with a title like "The Guitar Lover's Sampler" is the apostrophe in the right spot? Does it need on at all? I think what I have is right but another doth question it so I putteth it to the panel.

When in doubt, you can go this route:

"Lover's sampler" would be a sampler for a single guitar lover.
"Lovers' sampler" would be a sampler for guitar lovers.
Either way you do need an apostrophe.

Lover's Sampler would be a sampler for a lover.
Lovers' Sampler would be one singular sampler to be owned by many lovers. Eww.

Especially with the "The" in the title which certainly implies that the sampler is for individual guitar lovers (at least at a time... bow-chicka-bow-wow).

Right, so really it's a matter of my preference, which leans towards pizza. =D
Originally the cover was going to feature the singer girl dressed as a waitress and holding out a pizza with guitars jumbled on it like they're a topping. She was a pizza waitress part time when I met her and I'd already had the idea so it was like, "Wow man, karma or something like that." But then the playlist went and got all romantic so now I'm going with her dressed in whatever she happens to decide to show up in holding us out a heart shaped box of mixed chocolates. Meanwhile I'm sitting on the pizza idea for another day. There's rumors of a blues guitar sampler down the pike and a classical / probably no vocals too. The pizza might work for the blues one. ;)
My problem is, girl singer wants to rock. She's good at it too but she has such a gorgeous voice for the smooth jazzy stuff and she's still developing. I would love to put her with a good coach but that's touchy stuff right there. I've got my tracks for this one so I'm going to bide my time and try to sidle her gently over onto the blues CD when the time comes.

Even when there is no ambiguity, the double possessive is idiomatic and correct:

From which style manual did you get that? I'd truncate the "s" on each of those. (Not challenging, it's just that some of them "look wierd" and would produce an interruption in the reader's flow of comprehension.)

Yes it needs the apostrophe, to indicate the possessive. If you intend to indicate ONE (singular) guitar lover, it is correct as written. If you are trying to convey "The sampler for lovers {plural} of guitars," it would be:
"The Guitar Lovers' Sampler."

Cool, thanks. I was wondering about that. I actually spaced everthng else out one extra to make up for it. So the ( should be right next to the . with no space?
I'm under the impression my designer will just copy and paste and then manipulate it to her liking from thereso all the tab things shouldn't be a problem? I'm not getting the tabs thing. I'd have to go in and set them and then use the tab key? Me not that smart boss. [tinfoil] :laugh:

Make up your mind -- when using the forward slash to separate two names, either always use a space on each side of the slash, or never use a space. I'm not certain, but I believe the preferred format is no space.

Ya know, "280plus" is not a real word, or even a proper proper noun. I mean, you have three letters, just smushed together with a word that isn't even capitalized. Dang, dude, you are just so messed up.

For the record, this season's average came out to 280.69 so I shall remain for yet another year, 280plus :lol:
I did drop off though, the previous year it was 280.89. :P

So is a change of 0.20 in your annual average a sign of consistency, or in bullseye circles is that evidence of a horrible LACK of consistency?

That's actually fairly consistent. The drop came as a surprise because my lowest score this year was higher than my lowest last year and I shot a personal best 290 this year. So I expected it to be up a bit. This year it was like I was either on or off. If I was on I'd be in the mid to high 280s if I was off I was in the low to mid 270s. Apparently I was off more than on. :lol:
I shot my first clean sustained fire target in this particular league after 8 years of trying. =D
