Yes, they are. And since it's hot this afternoon, I'm going to take Dozer down to the lake.

And if the choice is dogs or humans, then absolutely positively.

Absolutely.

Better than humans.

Let's see.

Yesterday afternoon, when I tried to take a nap, Bucky refused to vacate the bed and insisted on sleeping almost on top of me, despite the fact that it was like 90 degrees and humid. Then, because he wants to be as close to center top of the bed with his head facing the door as he can get, regardless of where I want to be, I ended up with a face full of fart. That was when I gave up on the whole nap.
Then, last night, he repeatedly pushed me over to the edge of the bed, sat on me with his bony butt, would steal the middle of the bed every time I had to get up (like having to get up to let Graham out to pee in the middle of the *expletive deleted*ing night) and kept violently kicking the *expletive deleted*it out of me while he was dreaming of chasing bunnies or whatnot.
And he made me get up at 5 in the morning so he could pee and then drag his ass back in the house because he wanted to stroll about.

Oh, and I have to shake out the sheets before I go to bed at night while screaming "BUCKY NO!" because he is so determined to be on the bed that he won't wait a couple minutes for me to pull everything off the bed, shake the sheet out, retuck the sheet and get into the bed (so I can get into place before he hogs the rest of the bed) And the ONLY reason I need to shake out the sheets is because he tracks dirt into the bed.

... But he's really cute, especially when you rub his face and he starts rolling around in ecstasy, pawing his nose and making his snorking noises... Even though he rubs his nose slime and drool into the bedding when he does it...

So, yeah, dogs are the best. Please don't tell the cat I said that.

Dogs are better people than most people.

Mine are chowing down on fresh beef soup bones from the steer we just put in the freezer.  Dog iced treats on a hot day.

We lost the best cattle herding dog I ever saw in a tragic accident three weeks ago.  Jake was 12 years old. He was the best. So, yes, dogs are the best.

If dogs don't go to heaven, I'm not going. :'(

Preach on.   Any deity that gave us dogs buy won't let them into heaven can *expletive deleted*ck right off.

yup.
My yellow lab is 12 years old and slowing down a lot but show him a tennis ball or retrieving dummy and he suddenly becomes a puppy again- at least for a few short retrieves.
90 degrees here today. I'll probably walk him down to the neighbor's pond later.
He is the happiest dog I've ever seen. I've had better bird dogs but not better friends.

Absotively.

I miss mine.  I can't get another because the docs say "No animals".  But my son brings his dog over occasionally.  But he gets mad because she likes me better.  (She'll stay by me and sleep in my bedroom instead of with him...)

Yeah, but they're just staring at you because, well, they're aholes.

Cats don't care if you like dogs or not. That's what I like about cats. Their "I give one *expletive deleted*it not" attitude.

My cat and my dog were laying on the stairs a few days ago.  One of them moved for me when I went down the stairs. The other made me step over her. Guess which is which.

It all goes back to that Far Side cartoon where the cats wear fedoras and the dogs wear ball caps (though Romy really likes her cowboy hat).

My cat gets out of my way.  Unfortunatly she learned to do that through a very painful lesson...... :'( =(

You look into that sweet, sweet face and those incredible eyes and tell me dogs aren't the best...

OK, I'm still trying to figure out how to use Google photos for sharing. Let me know if that doesn't work for you. I can't get it to link.

My cat seems to be immune to pain, because he's been kicked halfway across the room, stepped on and nailed by the dogs, yet he still insists on *running* through feet on the move.

He really likes to lay down behind me while I'm cooking so I trip over him while I'm dealing with hot pots and pans.  One of these days I'm not going to be able to save the pot of boiling water and noodles and we'll both get scalded.
