Roger Stone Arrest
« on: January 25, 2019, 01:36:28 PM »
An interesting question by Sarah Sanders:

https://twitchy.com/dougp-3137/2019/01/25/after-they-arrest-him-like-he-was-el-chapo-roger-stone-released-on-bail-and-people-have-questions/

Also interesting was how this raid was performed. A couple dozen feds with lots of battle rattle. For a "false statements" arrest of an old guy who was out on bail a couple hours later. Tell me that's not partisan optics. This could have been done by two suits in a sedan.

In this case it is. They do the same dumb thing in many other cases just because they like to play commando. And then they shoot your dog.

Does anyone remember several months back when I was talking about how democrats would use tactics they learned in WI?
-Find a lefty judge to sign a warrant on an open ended investigation targeting the President's associates. (called a 'John Doe' case in WI)
-Use SWAT to publicly and humiliatingly arrest, confiscate property, make spurious charges (if at all).
-Leak innuendos about defendant to the press*
-Have judge file gag order on defendent.
-Keep lawfare going until a higher court throws the case out.

One federal law enforcement source told Fox News on Friday that the operation was “standard” for a home arrest.

Good to know what citizens can expect.

In many of the cases isn't it communicated to the subject or their lawyer that hey, you're under arrest, deliver yourself by this date.

Super common in white collar crimes, or arrests of prominent people, which makes the whole high profile raid style arrest much more suspect.

A few quick points.

Everything Stone is charged with is from AFTER the campaign.

They are all process crimes.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

So he gets a stock photo from somewhere that happens to have some sort of logo in the background and that is his bad decision?  That part of it is nuts.  I don't know what the rule is on criticizing the judge (who deserves it).  Is that a violation of the law or just bad form?  IMO, from what I have heard of the Manafort stuff, she is partial and should be thrown off the bench.

He ought to get the case moved to a different judge.  I am not sure what is required for that in federal court.
