Title: POLL: Is your wife/girlfriend anti gun?
Post by: Seymour Skinner on October 18, 2005, 12:33:37 AM
My wife/girlfriend...:

A. ...is so pro gun, her arsenal makes mine hide in shame.

B. ...is as pro gun as I.

C. ...is lukewarm pro gun.

D. ...doesn't care.

E. ...is anti gun but tolerates my collection.

F. ...is very anti gun and prohibits guns in the home.

Mine is a "C" by the way.

C.  She was mostly uneducated about the matter when we first met but she continues to surprise me.  I would expect to put down a B in the future but probably never an A.

G.  Non-existant, as I am female.

Otherwise I'd have to go with A, he has a facination with rifles with bayonettes.  Who doesn't, really...

But refuses to get a CCW.  I ordered her to get one when we move to VA.
When we first got married, she no *expletive deleted*it said that I couldn't have a gun in the house.  Around the time I got my permit, she said "Well, if you leave the house overnight with the gun, how am I suppossed to protect myself?" and made me buy another handgun.

Between C and D.  She's enthusiastic about it as my hobby, but isn't interested in the political side.  Depending on her mood and how much I've been blathering on about them lately, her response ranges from "that's really neat" to "you're talking about guns again?".

C.   But when I gave her a Tomcat .32, she said the hole in the end was not big enough and to give her back the Glock.

Is only pro-gun because I am.  Lukewarm at best, and doesn't shoot (which is, BTW, a good thing, alas).

B.  She can't keep up with me, only because I make more money than she does.

BTW, she's finally getting around to getting her CHL.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Sorta lukewarm I guess because she is excited to go the range with me this weekend. I told her I needed to my new deer shotgun sighted in this weekend and also to make sure my 30-06 is still on target for deer hunting this fall/winter. (We have a rifle season finally in Iowa)

I bought a j frame back in August and her words were "I like the cute little gun"

She doesn't care that I carry at all, I always come to her place with one on my person, she hasn't freaked out at all about it since we started dating back in March.

One time she told me that if someone broke in her apartment and if she had a handgun she would shoot them in the knee caps, I told her that the chest was a bigger target. She was worried about killing someone, I told her if she needed to use a firearm against a person that that person was trying to kill you, she agreed.

She keeps hinting to me that I bought her a pistol or a shotgun for Christmas, I actually bought her something else already that every woman wants (its is not a firearm) but I might have to pick up K frame for her.

Does pro gun mean pro RKBA or does it mean liking to have and shoot guns?  If the former than she is a 'B' and there is no such thing as an 'A'.  If the later then she is a 'D'.  She is very much of the opinion that people should have the RKBA and that we shouldn't rely on the gubmint to protect us.

Unfortunately, she thinks it is my duty to defend the family, not hers.  I'm worried about what would happen to them if I were gone and something bad happened.  Likewise it would be very nice to have somebody watching my back in a SHTF situation.  Fortunately, 5 of my 6 kids enjoy shooting and when they are old enough will be given some of the protect and defend duties of the household.

She shoots with me, says my G19 is a comfort to have around while I'm away (and calls it "Mr. Glock.")

OTOH, she doesn't want any more toys to follow him into Firethorn Manor.
