I'm at a loss as to what title to give this post.

Okay, so y'all remember Pizzagate, yes? In case you don't, it was, and I suppose still is, the conspiracy theory that prominent Dems and some supporters were using a pizzeria as a base for sex-crimes against children.

Well, one of the reporters, Peter Bright, who insisted that it was all nonsense and that's not how pedophiles would operate has just been arrested on child sex-crime charges himself.

Now just because he was arrested doesn't make the theory true, nor does it make him guilty of anything. This could all be a huge mistake.

However the fact that he called himself Dr. Pizza and was so active in denouncing the claims makes it seem like he was covering for people, maybe even himself. I don't like to wear the  [tinfoil] but in this case it might be justified.

If the charges are true, I both hope and do not hope that he has something to trade for a lighter sentence. As in the dirt on certain Dems and supporters.

Because if he does have something to trade that means there really were crimes, a lot of of crimes, against children and that's freaking horrible to contemplate. But if there were and he rolls then that means justice will be coming for those who truly deserve it. And maybe this could be the domino that starts a lot more of a reckoning for a bunch of folks who have committed a wide range of other crimes as the pedophiles trade that info in an attempt to mitigate their own fates.

But if he doesn't that could mean that there were no crimes against children and he's just a one-off pervert working his own thing or that he was not privy to any information about actual crimes and maybe took a defensive stance because he didn't want others, even if he had no idea if they did anything, who were possibly like him to be outed.

On balance, if I had to choose, I would choose the option where there were no crimes against children of course. But if there were, I hope he has salient and actionable information.

Alternate (remote) possibility:

He was set up. Quickest way to remove a person's support base is to make allegations of kiddie pr0n or pedophilia crimes.

Barney frank pretty much openly trafficked teenaged boys, and the rest of the Dems didn’t even care.
A former senator (D, of course)(one with a lot of name recognition) from WI supposedly had a taste for teenaged boys as well, though from rumors, the Milwaukee police were made to cover it up.

Children’s shows, movies and pop music are all sexualizing children at younger and younger ages.

Some days I think it is just the natural descent into depravity of a dying culture.

Other days I think it has been done by design using psychological propaganda and influence techniques to nudge each generation a little farther along.

Either way, the fish rots from the head. The political and cultural elite are setting the agenda.

I have never listened to Alex Jones or spent any time on Infowars so I really don't have any particular reaction to them.  Given all the comments, I probably never will.  The few sounds bytes I have heard of Alex Jones seems to indicate he is a conspiracy nut.

I used to go there once in awhile just to see what the rant of the day was. There was every once in awhile a good story but you had to wade through a sea of chem trail and similar conspiracy stories to find them and it grew tiresome.  I got the impression that he was/is just a con artist putting up crazy stories just to get his name in the news and to con conspiracy nuts out of their money.

I can't help but wonder if one of his conspiracies was a little too close to the truth and that's what got him shut out.

“Conspiracy” is a magic word used to derail and debunk something without actually debunking it.
