The Roundtable / Why would anyone voluntarily travel to Mexico?

My late wife was from South America. She has a cousin who isn't a native Mexican but who has been a professor at a university in Mexico City for years. When he visited us while my wife was still alive, she asked about us visiting him. He said, "You can come -- you're a Latina. [Hawkmoon] can't come -- Mexico City isn't safe for Americans."

My wife has been gone for ten years, so this was probably 15 years ago. Things haven't gotten any better in Mexico since then. It's looking now like all of Mexico isn't safe for Americans, not even Cancun or Baja.

Can anyone explain to me how using the manual door release to manually release the door could in any way damage the car?

Just looking at her photo you can see that the two brain cells she has are lonely, and not likely to ever meet up to create a coherent thought.

Something I read about a week ago about this said the teachers want a "housing stipend" despite the fact that many of them are earning OVER $100,000 !!!  [barf]

Give them vouchers for Section 8 housing.

So, your house wears a tinfoil hat.

Yep. Saves me having to wear one, unless I go outdoors.

Until this thread, I had never heard of Generation Jones. As a result of chasing down what that is, I confirmed that I'm not even a Boomer -- according to Wikipedia, I'm a member of "the Silent Generation."

Depending on WHERE and what TYPE of sensor is used, a piece of foil or sheet metal to cover the sensor, or maybe, just some spray paint?

But I never liked the Banana Splits. Or HR Puffinstuff.

Never watched them but do remember them being on TV.
Sid & Marty Croft, Outer Limits (orig.), Twilight Zone (orig.), Lost in Space (orig.), Have Gun Will Travel, etc.

We were only there a couple of days, which isn't enough time to do much. Should have taken at least one more day.

On the way down, I discovered there is a Buc-ees in Springfield. Never been to one before. It turned out to be one of the best parts of the trip, since we got to meet 2 lab puppies out at the parking lot. And gas < $3. (There's also a Whataburger. It's a regular Lone Star State of mind down there.)

We opted to skip Silver Dollar City in favor of Queen Esther. Some friends recommended it very highly, and they were not wrong. The stuff they were doing with the sets was really impressive, and of course it's a good story.

I was looking around for about ten minutes in a resale shop when I found this guy:

I've always thought these were really cool. I paid about $15 for this one. The tip of the blade is broken off, but someone did a pretty good job of re-shaping it. All the other tools are in good shape. No nail file, so I guess it's one of the older ones.
