It _appears_ that the woke crowd has had someone go after Steve Martin over his King Tut sketch.
And it appears that a lot of people think that is pretty funny.
I'm sort of wondering if maybe his PR people could have set that up?
Conversely, I'd love to see the woke reaction to Richard Pryor...

They're went after him over that many many years ago. Guess someone decided to bring it up again?
BTW: The skit was mildly entertaining at best.

I think it is still pretty entertaining. Pretty good set also with the band dressed up. =)

I have a huge amount of respect for Steve Martin's musical talents but I've always found his humor/comedy to be a little more juvenile than I prefer.

Speaking as someone who hasn't seen any of his stand-up routines, and who barely remembers his SNL days (though I was alive at the time), I can only say that his movie/TV efforts (from The Jerk to Only Murders in the Building) have been amusing.

I always found his humor moderately amusing at best, but he was playing to a specific audience and was quite successful for a long time.
I remember reading that in person, away from the comedy stage, he's very "normal" (whatever that means these days) with none of his comedic craziness evident.

I enjoyed Only Murders in the Building.

I have never heard of any murders he was accomplice to. I guess it is time to google.
