A chicken with a clock in it, sitting on a table made from 2 sets of hames and a large chain sprocket salvaged from an some ancient piece of farm equipment.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Record turntable. Tape deck. Plant, window with shades closed.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

A sack of AR-15 mags and a S&W M&P 9mm. All loaded, of course. No, I'm not getting ready to go on a raiding party...

The bookshelves that line the entire back wall of the apartment. The shelf that is directly to my left and on my level is filled with my role playing books: DnD, Star Wars (both D20), and a loan first ed WFRP. Also my beloved wife's Stitch n' Bitch and Sudoku books, some photo albums, and some random magazines and old an old MCI for some damn reason. In front of them is a dragon hour glass given me by the mom of a girl I had a crush on, who apparently reciprocated but I was too dense to notice. Which worked out well, my beloved is far superior.  =D

In front of that is a small end table with: a tape measure, a felt pen case, a hard case with a Sheaffer snorkel PdAg pen/pencil set (which I really need to sell), the dust cover from the copy of "Death in the Long Grass" I just got in the mail (amazing book, if you've never read it get it nao!), Kleenex box, big bottle of Hoppe's #9, Bore Snake in it's packaging (.45 I'm guessing but too lazy to pick it up), headphones, Sansa mp3 player, a headlamp, Zebra mechanical pencil (forget the model, the all metal one usable for self defense), a book for memory verses from church, my cell phone, my work crackberry, a letter from a friend, various receipts and notepads, and a balloon glass filled with Martinelli's sparkling apple-pomegranite.

Sliding closet doors, on which are taped:

1. A diagramtic representation of the Krebs cycle.

2. A map of the Great Ocean on the Ringworld.

3. Database schema diagrams of my employer's two review platforms.

4. Calvin and Hobbes crossing a stream.

At about 8:00 I see:

*Our dining room table, with;
a note from my wife asking me to put more paper in the printer as she is printing a chemise pattern
     an empty wine bottle
     two painter's drop cloths
     a bowl of mixed nuts/raisins
     a bowl of grapes
     a trivet
*two chairs for the table
*my wife's umbrella.

At 9:00:

*the chair my son usually sits in at the table
*a paper figure of a Scotsman that my son made for a school project
*a blue plastic basket.

10:00:

*more artwork by my son
*a writing desk supporting our printer and other computer stuff
*our CPU tower, under the writing desk
*a small shelf unit containing various knick-knacks

Note: printer is out of ink; the chemise pattern will have to wait.

What do you see to the left of you, right now, this instant?

I see the endless ravings of a bunch of lunatics, mindless beings locked in a stuggle between reality and fantasy, their only tangible link to sanity being the eternal question, "What's to the left?".

Nancy Pelosi.

I knew she was getting some! But posting from bed? Kinky!

I see a Dora Dream House that I often trip over in my wife's office. The 2 year old carpet shark plays with it there.

If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

My Alienware laptop (I'm typing on my HP), my crackberry, wires, a grue, papers, my keys, and a very large stack of international traffic in arms regulations.

My PFY's keep disappearing when I sent them into the comms closet.  It's a useful test.  You're not a true BOFH until you've strangled your first grue with some cat 5e.
