Isn't the act of banning guns assuming or acknowledging some responsibility for driver and passenger safety?

That's the way I want it to be.  But until a customer or employee manages to successfully sue a company for not protecting them from a violent incident that they 'could' have resolved more satisfactorily if they had been allowed to carry in that place, the default assumption is going to be that no guns = lower liability.

^^^If I recall correctly, I have read of some such cases at the trial court level, and the companies pretty consistently escape liability.
