You and I think he's a moron. The problem is that the other side pushes him as a conservative voice, and the MSM puts him in the spotlight. This can absolutely sway "middle of the road" people.

He's the guy who has made an Obama-like leap in the polls out of nowhere. Gay, hip, apparently has been in-theater, so lots of boxes checked. On the bright side, he is somewhat of a Robert O'Rourke replacement and has caused O'Rourke to fall pretty much into oblivion.

Running for president as a Democrat. His only qualification is that he's gay. At least, that's literally the only thing anyone talks about with him. That, and he hates trump and thinks Pence will put him in the gay gulag.

You may know him better as "Mayor Pete." Not sure why they picked such a dopey nickname for him. I guess because it plays well with the kind of pajama soy-boys that need a dose of cute puppies just to recover from hearing anything that counters their "woke" mythology.
