I'm drinking a Lagunitas right now, it is good but I can see where it could be better.

Anyone here like a good strong hoppy beer?

Gnaw Bone IPA by Oaken Barrel in Greenwood, Indiana. My friend likes this very much; I first had it at the Indy Microbrewfest in July. It is very hoppy.

Try the Dogfish Head 90- or 120- minute IPA.

They actually sell both of these in my local supermarket.

I also like the Hercules Double IPA from Great Divide Brewing.

All of these are strong and hoppy, particularly the Dogfish 120-minute IPA.

Dogfish Head is good stuff. If you want to go spendy, Ruination IPA from Stone Brewery is the stuff of legend.

+1 for Ruination, it's just over the top hoppy. Pretty much everything by Stone is over the top.

Ugh, I am not a fan of IPAs. But, I have some friends who are, and they love the 120 minute when you can find it (and afford it--good lord is a case of that stuff expensive) and Stone's IPA.

For local (to me) beers, Victory's Hopdevil is supposed to be pretty good.

I thought you meant isopropyl alcohol. That's what we call it in the lab. I wouldn't drink it.

I didn't know there was such a thing as beer outside the Pacific NW.

A buddy of mine recently explained to me that not everywhere in America, is a brewpub right down the street from your house.... in every direction.

I went to High School with Kwang Casey (he lived down the street from me, I help him to learn English, he came to America as was adopted by his Aunt and Uncle after his mother died.) Part owner of Oaken Barrel. Good Food and Brew there, even if I am partial.....

What is it with the current craze of hopping beer until it's so bitter you can hardly hide the grimace? Dad and I went into a microbrewery in Gunnison, CO, ealier this year. The brews were swill, so overly hopped that they were undrinkable. But the patrons were guzzling it down and proclaiming how good it was. Bleh. I guess that's what lack of options will do to your taste buds!

It's an acquired taste.

Friggen hop prices are forcing my local haunts to change their IPA recipes. They're still good, but it sucks to see an old favorite go away.

Dunno, but they're gooooooood. Their Arrogant Bastard Ale is absolutely delicious. I gave it to someone, and their eyes got huge on the first sip, they just stared at the glass as if a light had shone down from above.

And their Smoked Porter? WOW!!!

The Flying Dog brewery makes a decent IPA.

Anchor Brewing Company doesnt make an IPA, but their Liberty Ale and Old Foghorn Barleywine ales make up for it!

Back from the dead!

I meant to share my new favorite with you guys who like hoppy beers.

Bells Hopslam, it is only a seasonal brew so it will probably be hard to find right now locally.

I highly recommend it!

At some time there was a thread here where a beer rating site was posted. For the life of me my Google skilz are weak and I cannot find the site I was looking for. Anyone have such a site bookmarked?

While I'm not much for IPA, Thomas Creek is local and they put out some good stuff IMO.

Though I agree with not understanding the need to make something so full of hops you can't hardly drink it.
