VP debate?
« on: October 07, 2020, 09:00:22 PM »
The last VP debate I watched had three people. Pence needs to win this and do it in a way Trump can't.

I'm already half drunk so it should be fun.

Hell, isn't that  a prereq for political circus?

Forgot about it, put up a YT stream and took one look at the smug look on Harris's face and had to turn it off.

More polite, but they keep doing split screens showing Harris smirking and making faces through each of Pence's segments. I've only just started watching and am just fast forwarding through getting snippets.

The moderator is writing Nacy Pelosi's biography. I think Pence is doing pretty good considering her slanted questions which are basically "Why did Trump screw up?" to Pence and "How would Biden fix things? to Harris.

It is much better, hardly any cross-talk.
I still think they should cut one mic for those 2 uninterrupted minutes that start each segment at the very least.

They don't answer the question

I thought Pence has done a much better job of being direct, but not every time.  Harris keeps running away from every direct question like the one on if they will try to stack the SC.  IMO, the main points which Harris makes that seem good are all long ago debunked "facts".  It might work with some I guess.

I will be curious to see what the speaking time allowances are for each one, before and after the first time the moderator tried to stop them.

Overall I think Pence is doing a good job of being the complete opposite of Trump.

I managed about 5 minutes of watching Harris and couldnt stomach it. I'll get the analysis off youtube.

So I'm not the only one who can't tolerate Harris. I won't even try to watch her performances.

From looking at the various online synopses this morning, I guess I wasn't the only one who quickly got sick of Harris's constant smirking and making faces like a teenage girl.

Also apparently AOC is very upset that Pence called her AOC during the debate.

Just saw a headline that CNN scored it 59% for Harris and 38% for Pence. I guess that means Pence scored a knockout, right?

I thought Pence answer the questions well and remained calm and reserved the whole time.  I thought he did very well.  Harris doesn't debate well IMO.

I listened on the radio through the first 10 minutes then pulled the plug, unbearable.

The debates are useless for Republicans IMHO, other than to show how well (or not) they perform against the odds.

The moderators are always a disaster.

The consensus among sources I trust is Pence won if you are polling sane people.

Harris won if you are infantile and low IQ.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

As far as voting goes the dem controlled public schools have largely taken care of the latter, the dems are actively working on giving the right to vote to the former
