Apparently the Calif Highway Patrol is withholding body cam footage of Pelosi's husband's arrest "to not jeopardize the investigation". That may very well be true, but I seem to recall seeing a LOT of immediately released body cam footage of traffic stops for lots of other politicians, let alone their non-office holding spouses.
What’s the over under on how many times he told the cops who he was and who his wife was
If we could see the footage from the arrest, we’d know the answer to that question.

Scratching my head on how releasing the footage would "jeopardize the investigation"

Well they have to come to the right decision to drop the charges. Because he is (D)ifferent.

I think a better translation might be:
"We are only allowed to withhold this kind of thing for a limited set of reasons, but 'involves an interview with a victim of sexual assault' can't be made to fly, and 'we don't want to tick off Pelosi' isn't on the list, so we will reference a random one of the legitimate reasons that is remotely plausible instead."

I can see an "endangering an ongoing investigation" decision in terms of "pre-trial publicity" affecting a possible actual future trial in this case with such prominent people involved.
Sorta straw-grasping, I guess, but I can see that kind of rationalization.
I do, however, object to the general principle of withholding data for inordinate amounts of time. That excuse can go on forever in any case which was never actually stamped "Closed."

On a side note, "Pelosi's Drunk Husband" sounds like a great name for a punk rock band

Depending on the police officer's politics, that sign could make the situation worse ! [popcorn]

Charged with DUI.
Definitely looks drunk in the mugshot
Also there was a mystery witness. Police will not confirm nor deny if there was a passenger in the car. Hmmmm

Anyone know if this is BS or not?
Was in the comments
Paul is a killer......He killed his brother in a car accident when he was a teenager, he also flipped over the family car with Nancy and all their kids in it. Nancy of course got out of the flipped over car, and hitched a ride into town to met with donors, yes she left her kids in the flipped over car to meet with donors....These are a couple of great people....

What we can be pretty sure of is that someone - either the California Highway Patrol, the local Sheriff's Department, or the District Attorney -are lying about things like the severity of the collision, availability of video, witnesses, witness statements, etc.
There's a good chance that all three authorities are lying to some degree, trying to cover for the husband of the House Speaker.
And most of the media are complicit - just like they were with the Hunter Biden laptop story, the Steel dossier, etc. etc.

And any journalist who goes against the fix will be out of a job.
Many years ago, a friend who was an editor for the then-morning newspaper in the nearby city came across some unflattering information about a big-name Democrat presidential candidate. The newspaper absolutely refused to let him print a word of it. He took it to a television network, which actually ran it (because their fix was in for a competing Democrat) -- and my friend lost his job at the newspaper.

I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her. She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen.
No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!

If that was Trump I'm sure the MSM and dems would be screaming hate crime against a POC

I'm having a little sympathy for Paul Pelosi now . . . were I married to Nancy, not only would I want to get drunk, but I want to stay that way, too.

Cut Nancy some slack, I'm sure she was only into her first half-gallon of vodka at that point.

Sources confirmed that once Pelosi was finished, there was no communion wine left for the 1,200 people still waiting in line to receive it. Pelosi's husband stayed behind to ask for some communion in a to-go cup.

A little insider trading perhaps?
Nothing to see here. Nothing that would land you, me, and any R in prison. wink wink ;)

LOL.
I bet all congressmen do this, R or D.
That is one reason they mostly end up so stinking rich.

At least he didn't skip a $200 tax.

Very true. But you know just as well as I know if an R was next to her name every dem and the MSM would be calling for her removal and for criminal charges to be brought up. But since there's a D next to her name, crickets.

If I understand it correctly, insider trading is legal for congress critters, but not legal for us peons.

Yes, I think so. Seems obvious we need to somehow ban them from buying shares in any publicly traded company. Probably would take an amendment.
Then again, constitutional limits don't mean much to them.

^^
That is actually one of AOC's hobby horses. Trying to ban legislators from owning stock in public companies.

Ironically in AOCs idea world there would be no public companies

Problem ==> Solution.

Not sure I want to ban them from doing anything. Start with just requiring them to report any income or transaction more than $1000. Require immediate family members and members of household to do the same.

Family members would be great. My father was in aviation electronics from mid 60's to mid 80's. Worked with Lear and big oil companies. He told me several stories of being at a place discussing upgrades and someone would say we need to fly to somewhere and pick up congressman so and so's wife and take her here. The best one was when Bill Lear looked at him and said I guess we are having lunch in Vegas. Or so you want lunch in Vegas?
-
I would say gifts or in-kind services should be reported no matter the value.
Where it gets hazy is talking about brothers/sisters/in-laws/cousins who are linked to the congressman. How far do you go?
An example: there was an online grocery store that burned down in the Netherlands after one of the farmer protests there. The grocery store is part of a chain owned all or in part by the brother of the minister who did the "nitrogen" law that is screwing over farmers. Bill Gates' foundation invested in the chain. I am sure that had no connection at all the minister or the climate change legislation.

Insider trading is illegal for congress also.

Just samples. Yes, we can start at term limitations to make elected offices (at all levels) less palatable, but don't forget they hold their own purse strings.
They charge what the market will bear and we can't outsource our governance to India. =|

At least in India the bribery and other corruption is fairly openly conducted.

I stand corrected. I was responding with rather old information. After the passage of the Stock Act, PUBLIC LAW 112–105, on April. 4, 2012, it became specifically illegal for congress critters to buy or trade stock using insider information. Prior to that time it was uncertain whether insider stock trading was illegal for them, and if it was, there was serious doubt to whether they could actually be successfully prosecuted for same.

The Associated Press headline says it all, published by hundreds of outlets: “Paul Pelosi gets 5 days in jail, 3 years of probation in DUI.”
That could cause a reasonable person to think that despite his wealth and political status, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband faced some amount of justice. After all, five days in jail and three years of probation isn’t nothing, especially for an 82-year-old man
The problem? It’s completely untrue.
Disappointing but not surprising

Hell, I got more time than that in the Napa County Jail for possession of 1/2 of a joint back in '74.
