Gewehr, have you seen Ax Men?  It's "Deadliest Catch" in the forest.  IIRC, it's on the History Channel.

I forgot about Mal's ex-wife.  I voted Kaylee anyway.  She is on Stargate Atlantis now by the way.

I am a technologically-able fellow, but I do not automatically go ga-ga over everything that has a rocket & ray gun.

SF requires plot, writing, character development, acting, etc. to be of interest to me.

Firefly has them all.

Actually, I saw part of Ax Men the other night.  Something about getting the lumber stacked up, but the trucks couldn't get to the logging site.

I was actually quite surprised to see Deadliest Catch return for another season - I would've thought there's only so many ways to portray drama on the high seas.  Wink

Oh, I forgot to tell you the character I voted for.

Zoe.

Not that the other gals are chopped liver.  Y'all have spoken truth in praise of their characters.

But, Zoe has it all:
1. Hottie
2. Smart
3. Capable
4. Emotionally stable / can have a stable relationship
5. Can lead and follow
6. Well-disciplined
7. Could wrest the chain of command from Jayne, beat him to death with it, and look good doing it

Firefly/Serenity isn't really all that much "science fiction."

More of a "space western," or, in some cases, a "space eastern," with a bit of psychoweirdness occasionally.

I'll take Inara.

That second pic is my favorite of her.

I don't go ga-ga over all scifi, but I will normally watch most any of it if it isn't really screwed up.  The best SciFi really rises to the top though in shows such as FireFly.

I do find it amusing that all the most successful scifi shows have good looking women.  What does that say about us?

Fixed it for you.

Not sure you can draw much from it as pretty much every show, successful or not, has good looking women on the cast.

I'm turning 24 next month. If I met her at a party, I wouldn't risk it! Ha ha. The "Hmm I wonder if she's 18 yet" look doesn't appeal to me in general though.  police!

Kayle. How can you not love someone described as being able to "make even the most illegal behavior sound adorable."  grin

Aside from physical qualities, she's a really cheerful happy person. Who wouldn't want someone in their life who'd always be able to smile at adversity and be cheerful in bad circumstances?

Or just look at how she went straight into Niska's headquarters, blew off his attempt at melodrama, and just said "Him," and then mocked Niska for being such a drama queen.  Then the look on her face when she takes the ear from Niska.  Tells you about all you need to know.   smiley

Hmm, I need to dig out my Blue Sun t-shirt and strike my best pose for the APS girls...

I voted for Kaylee, but her interest in Simon, who I dislike, is annoying.  I'm just jealous, I guess.

I'd second Inara, but I'd be afraid she'd emasculate me with a simple phrase like, "you wouldn't know what to do with me."  undecided

"Saffron."

I'd only require her presence for as long as she could maintain an identity...

But -- man -- that actress is scorching hot.
