Poor little girl.

Probably the daughter of some party official that's had a guitar glued to her hands and locked in a room in a compound for the last 12 months straight to learn a VERY small repertoire to incredible brilliance.

Her fingers must have hurt so much.

You can't play like that without very demanding practice.  Children don't have that kind of discipline in the face of pain.

I'd actually call this child abuse.

i'm not so sure  no barney and wonderpets  she would have a lot of free time.  i've seen some obsessed lil ones
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

yup  i've seen lil ones find some one thing and devote themselves to it.  especially if they get praise /attention/rewarded for it.

there was one part that was a concert from expressionless robotic children on guitars

they were note precise but passionless

Sounds a lot like 95% of the Hartt students I know.  Playback machines. ;)

To me, she seems to be enjoying herself. Like in the way she's bouncing her head back and forth during the rythymic part. I'm just not seeing a robot here.

I have seen kids as young as that play that well before. One that comes to mind was 7 when I saw him but he had a suitable sized guitar. Both his parents were musicians so he was pretty well exposed since birth. Probably before birth if you take the yuppie parents factor into consideration.  =D

I suspect she's using a full sized guitar for the sound that wil come out of it vs a child size.

Right.  As with North Korea's other cultural achievements, I'm certain this one was accomplished purely through positive reinforcement and the exceptional freedom to choose one's own destiny.

cheerleading  gymnastics  tennis  golf  swimming i've seen it all.  i remember tiger woods on carson as a real young un. she can't help being korean  nor can she help xenophobes reacting to that

I'm with C&SDaddy in this case.

It is not possible to teach a child to play an instrument - piano, guitar, violin - like that without some pretty harsh discipline, in North Korea or in America.

Whether we should be doing that is a question for another thread.
