LIBERTY COUNTY -- Liberty County sheriff's deputies are on the scene of a home in Hardin where a tipster told them 25 to 30 bodies are buried.

Latest Fox News Channel cable TV reports indicate there were no bodies.  Some type of hoax is -- or has -- been perpetrated.

Apparently, this was started by a tip from a psychic.  Who visualized a mass grave full of bodies.  [tinfoil]

I have just had a vision that the tipster will be getting an unflattering picture taken and ink smears on his/her fingers. >:D

Funny how a few simple, unconnected things can spiral a situation out of control.....at least there were no SWAT teams or no-knock warrants involved.....

I could give police tips on several locations where there are dozens or even hundreds of bodies buried   =D

The investigation began after the sheriff's office received a
tip from a psychic who claimed that many bodies, including those of
children, were in the house, said Liberty County Judge Craig
McNair, the county's top elected official.

A quick search Monday night turned up nothing, authorities said.
But the tipster called back Tuesday morning to say deputies had the
wrong house, Evans said.

McNair said deputies found blood on a back door and detected a
foul odor coming from the house, leading to the search warrant.

This is enough to get a search warrant?  Really?

WHo the heck takes psychic tips seriously?

A psychic's tip, a little blood on the exterior and the scent of cow manure from the nearby field in this rural location(1).

"Oh, but there was blood!"

Yep, nobody in a ural area has cleaned game on their porch.

(1) This assumes the LEOs just didn't make up the "foul odor" the same way other unprovable odors waft in and out of police reports.

Germans are using science instead of psychics.

They're training vultures for police work. Apparently, vultures are really great at detecting bodies. Who'd have thunk it?   =D

Does the idiom you've just used mean there are many good lines that jokes could be based upon, but you are too good to do that?

(english is not my first language, and sometimes I just don't get what people mean..)

I'm not too good - just implying something without saying it ;)

There is a common phrase:
So many <insert something here>
So little time.

Tallpine is joking further, but yes, you got what he was saying exactly right.

The idea of Germans with their rather recent bloody history in just the past century alone, using vultures to find bodies has all sorts of ironic potential.

I promise not to duck.

Actually I wasn't thinking about Germans at all  ;)

Sounds reasonable....they've had a lot of success as attorneys, so they may do well on the police side of the legal system.....  =D

The term "straight line" in this context does not refer to a length of string stretched taut. In the entertainment world (at least here in the U.S.), when there are pairs of stand-up comedians, usually one of them is the "straight man," who makes seemingly innocent and straightforward statements, and the partner then twists the statement into something comical by his (or her) response. Our all-time classics in this venue were George Burns and Gracie Allen, and Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.

Here's an example of Abbott and Costello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo4NCXOX0p8

Makes a lot of sense though.  :P =D

That's the "New Math" our government schools tried to foist on us a couple decades ago.  I just never realized that eggheads plagiarized a Abbott and Costello movie. [popcorn]
