The world ended yesterday...

so what are you people still doing here?

The guy who said that the rapture would take place in May still insisted that the world would end on 21st October.

I thought the end of the world was sometime in 2012, just because some Mayan got tired of writing the damn calendar.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I'll start watching for the rapture after the Jewish temple is rebuilt.  (which it will be probably sooner rather than later, but they are gonna have a devil of a time dedicating it properly)

Read this first: The Temple and the Church's Mission: A Biblical Theology of the Dwelling Place of God.  Kind of dense, very interesting.

I miss all the fun stuff.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Maybe there is a correlation there with the married and world ending themes.

I hate to post something that is actually somewhat serious, but I was always taught the Rapture happens at the beginning of the Tribulation and that was one of those things that happens during the Tribulation.  Anyway, that was how it was always presented to me.  There is nothing left that is required to be done prior to the Rapture occurring.

Thinking of South Park, are all the Mormons still here?

There are several competing theories about when the rapture occurs.  Let's assume pre-trib because that's the hardest to predict.  The temple is desolated in the middle of the 7 years of Great Tribulation.  I think it will take more than 3 1/2 years to build the temple and get it ready for dedication.  (I have no scriptural basis for this but I think the Antichrist will desecrate the temple at its dedication; neither he nor G-d would want sacrifices to resume)

I'm studying the book of Daniel right now; just getting to chapter 9 (the 70 weeks)

What about the SP Mormons?  :)

Amil* here.  I regard the whole standard dispensational model to be a crock.
