Anyone live near Stony Brook, NY?
« on: March 09, 2006, 03:35:19 PM »
A guy on ebay is selling a camera lens I'm interested in purchasing.  However, it's "pick up only".  If one of you guys live nearby and would be willing to pick it up and ship it to me, I'd be willing to cover your expenses (reasonable, don't drive the 3gal/mile amateur dragster) and shipping charges.  I'm hoping since it's "pick up only", the price will stay low.

Thanks,
Chris

I just looked at a map and I would have to drive ~ 1.5 hr each way plus take the ferry to LI. Not feasible expense wise. The ferry costs a mint. Sorry... Sad

It's a nice trip, Chris, and you can visit West Point... Smiley

The fuel cost alone would pay for the same lens at KEH or B&H. Smiley

OK, skip the chance for a family vacation (not to mention the chance to let the miggit practice her moves on some plebes)... We're in the military, commandant! We can't handle this kind of violence!
