Yes, actually they can.  I would say there's no awesome there, but even I must admit that's a cool turn of events given the political message of the strip.  Let's see if Muir can keep it coming when the papers start to whine about his politics.

Highly lauded on many gun forums for the artist's libertarian politics and pro-gun views.

Gotta be confusing as all get-out to some folks - the characters all look like they live in the Fashionable Central West End, but behave like they're from Warren County...

It's for the tragically hip.  I thought I was hip.  I think I used to be hip and then I got a bunch of bills, and a mortgage and a payroll to meet and taxes to pay--what the heck happened?!?! angry

Nope. It's "for" liberals, tp make them think, and libertarians or libertarian-leaning conservatives, for fun.

If it's not hip then explain to me the monkey butts on their faces and the small dime-sized dark glasses.  Don't all the wannabe hipsters have monkey butts?

It's definitely overly-hip, which is one thing about it that bothers me.  I don't know if the goatee is really the give-away, though.  The liberal chick's clothing, on the other hand...

I'm not trying to be hip ( I don't think. ) but I do have a goatee.  It so happens that a lot of men are so trimming their beards these days and the strip reflects that.  Oh well.  Then again, that could also be true of whale-tail girl.  She dresses like the twenty-first century American girl.

It so happens my goatee is natural; I can't grow a full beard.
