The Minister of Public Health...
« on: October 13, 2014, 04:54:45 PM »
In a country known for their amazing beer and chocolate. I must admit however, I like the cut of her jib.

Quote
As Minister for Immigration in the last Belgian government she was praised for slashing the number of asylum requests by almost half, from 27,000 per year to 15,000.

She was unmoved by hunger strikes and sent in the police to end them and to ensure that expulsion orders were carried out

Did she eat the Hunger Strikers?

I could give a crap less about her looks or weight, can she do the job?

I'd be even more impressed with her if she cut off travel to and from Ebolaland.

I see that she practiced medicine for 25 years.  She seems better qualified than most for this particular position.

It's a heavy responsibility.  Not a job for some lightweight.

It's hardly polite to be making jokes about a lady's appearance. Especially when she is one of the extra rare, namely a competent government official.

You have to admit it's ironic.

Maybe she preached it, but it sure doesn't look like she's been practicing the basics of it.

Of course, now it begs the question.
Considering England's socialist medical system, and the mentality that being overweight costs everyone in the system resources and money, will she be swinging the system away from that line of thinking?

Considering she's Belgian, I doubt she'll be able to change the British NHS much.

It was fun to picture her leading hordes of Belgians into battle to take over Britain and reform their healthcare system by fire and the word.
