Guy shoots .338 Lapua with cleaning rod in the bore

Why did he have a cleaning rod jammed down from the muzzle end, you ask? Sticky case extraction from his "mild" loads. We got ourselves a real winner here folks. Someone who's not on a phone should link some of those pics.

Because the shooter wasn't paying attention, was focused on placing the brass back into the ammo box, and likely was chatting with someone next to him. Open bolt, insert rod, tap rod to free the casing, place casing into box, hop right back into the seat, insert next round and close bolt, pull trig-KABOOM.

I know the shooter, and this incident doesn't surprise me.

I'm interested to know what happened to his head and how he only sustained "minor injuries" from that.

I'd say THAT is a pretty good testimony for the strength of that action.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Yeah- that certainly increases my faith in Savage actions, though they look way overbuilt to start with.

Is the cleaning rod still usable?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

This thread is better on ARFcom

Many of them are. But since there's a fairly limited cross over between arfcom GD and APS it seemed appropriate...

Good thing he wasn't using a Hesse/Vulcan model.
