Nanny statist AND delsuional all in one package. How efficient of him.
But if he senses that he may not have as much time left as he would like, he has little doubt about what would await him at a Judgment Day. Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”

We know money can't buy happiness. Whether it can buy reason or sanity may still be open questions, but it's now pretty settled that Bloomberg ain't shopping in the right places.

hello, Gabriel? would you mind selling my timeshare on golden lane, I have the feeling that the property values will be dropping..........
more on his organization

one of the things that I don't like about the NRA is that they are big enough to draw a lot of publicized criticism.

He might have a problem with that whole pride issue.

Anything on this list he doesn't have a problem with?

Proverbs 6:16–19
These six things does the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.

Let him blow his money, he is supporting the loosing team.

Sort of like those annoying "In case of Rapture this vehicle will be driverless", or something along those lines. ;/

Your basic works righteousness.

Ok, humour aside he doesn't actually think there is a god, nor does he believe there is a heaven or that he's going to it. He just thinks that if there were, he would deserve a spot in it.

The news article should have been titled "Whiny Billionaire puts up millions to buy phony grassroots organization in attempt to get his way".
"The NRA should be afraid," said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. Women, and more particularly mothers, will be the key demographic in the outreach to curb gun violence.
"Moms are afraid that our children will be taken away. In the end, that's the emotion that's going to win."
Yeah, that's the important thing, wouldn't want to confuse the issue with facts, logic, and stuff.
From another article (http://news.msn.com/us/former-new-york-mayor-bloomberg-to-spend-dollar50-million-in-anti-gun-drive):
"Thirty-one thousand Americans either get murdered or commit suicide with illegal guns. That's the heavy lift," he said.
I guess if they had been registered all legal like, none of those bad things would have happened.
As far as him going to Heaven, I'm not certain Bloomberg would deem the Almighty worthy of his presence anyway.
What an arrogant gasbag.

I agree with Charby on the blowing dough. Anyway, it's pretty much his schtick at this point - blow tons of money on "this will change everything" stuff that either crashes and burns or dies with a whimper. Either way, hooray for our side. :)

He's putting a lot of money into the mandatory background check BS here in WA.

How's that leaning right now?

I have serious doubts that I'm anywhere near the front of the line to help baptize him.
“What can God do for a liar who refuses to repent? Can the Lord save him? He can’t claim salvation. Baptizing him in water will not settle the trouble, unless you keep him under.”

Polls show majority support for the initiative making them mandatory, as well as the initiative banning making them mandatory.
There's a thread by Millcreek about it on here. Hard to say how it'll go. The "elected a literal Socialist" folks in Seattle will go for it, the rurals will largely oppose it. Not sure who has strength in numbers.

When it comes to crazy rich people, I prefer Howard Hughes. At least he left people alone, and he provided some amusement.

In addition to actually producing some stuff.

Worlds apart, really.

I use a Bloomberg terminal at work. It kills me that we pay him almost $6,000 per quarter for each terminal, but there really isn't an alternative.

Doesn't Dun and Bradstreet do stuff like that anymore (are they even still around?)
Didn't Bloomberg just combine the two groups he was bankrolling into "Mom's Demand Action Against Illegal Mayors" or somesuch?
Is this group a spin off or replacement of that/those groups? I lose track of the astroturf orgs.

No, he is moving his two astroturf orgs under one umbrella astroturf org, now called Everytown for Gun Safety. Just think if the NRA had to constantly change it's name, how much it could get done. ;/

S.O.P. for liberals progressives. Tarnish the name you are using, reform under another name and continue doing the same things until people figure out you're the same as the name you last soiled. Rinse, repeat.

At this rate? Seems to be about once every 6-12 months. So I'll take "December".

I'll take November, so they can start off the holiday season with a bang.

Just in time for a "How to badger your relatives about 'gun safety' for Thanksgiving" guide.
