Title: SCARY CLOWNS...Why were these made? Abandoned amusement park
Post by: Manedwolf on December 03, 2007, 11:09:29 AM
Just had to share these. Carved clowns on rides at the abandoned Whalom Park in MA.

What did these do to the psyches of little kids that were eye-level with them under flashing amusement-park lights? O_o

My wife doesn't like clowns, probably for reasons very similar to the pictures. Then you have Stephen King's, "IT".

What a great looking place to check out to bad I am on the other side of the country.  Kind of like a ghost town for amusement.  I like the top picture front cab clown with pink bow to the left.  He would be my vote for horror film mascot.

I don't like clowns either. I'm not afraid of them. I just dislike them.

What a great looking place for a low budget slasher film.  Clowns are creepy.  All of them.

Great idea! How about a film where we kill evil monster clowns? Cheesy

Yeah, a movie where a bunch of gunnies like us are forced to defend ourselves and our families against evil monster clowns.  The only problem is, it would only be about five minutes long given the gun nuts on this board.

"Here come the evil monster clowns!"

Whalom Park is closed?  No more "whale" of a time?  When did that happen?

...almost a decade ago?

They demolished a good bit of it already, the 19th century roller coaster and all, to build condos.

Yeah, they did the same to Ocean View Amusement Park in Norfolk, Va. It wasn't a GREAT park, but it was a place to go have some fun (besides drinking). They did make a movie of it as it was demolished. I watched it being destroyed on the local news in Norfolk. Took a bulldozer PLUS explosives to bring down the roller coaster.

Don't feel bad, I still got things like, "It's so easy when you use Lestoil." and "MMM MMM Good", among others, stuck in mine.  laugh

We got an abandoned Drive In nearby. I think the snack bar is haunted, by evil clowns...  shocked

This guy is a NJ legend from asbury park. This is/was a huge painting on the side of an amusement hall. They saved him by cutting out a huge section of the cement wall before tearing the buildings down. All so they can build condos. Almost forgot his name is Tilly

I hate clowns. They're definitely worth the expenditure of ammo to perform a Failure-to-Stop drill on.

Seems these days, it has become fashionable to hate clowns. I guess it took the pressure off the rock band "Queen".

I could see it now.

"clearly, .45s are better because they blow bigger holes in the evil clowns!"

"Sure, it's bigger holes, but I can shoot more evil clowns."

"Oh yea? I have a Barret light .50 and only 10 rounds.  Now, let's get those clowns to line up.... "

Seriously, kinda cool looking place there... wonder if the rides would function with power applied?

Ollllld joke

Soakers here, at your comedic service.  Willing to play on both sides of the joke, no matter how old.  "No guts, no glory" I always say.  The guy who made up the peanut joke never knew how it'd go over till he risked it all and tried.  Funniest joke in the world, never'd been if he didn't give it a shot.   Not afraid to fall flat in front of a crowd, not Soakers, no boy.  I've been called a comedy daredevil, yep that's me not afraid of risks, anything for a laugh.

 grin

Well, the way I imagine it, if you use a shotgun you have a better chance at shattering their funny bone.  Making them just ordinary stupidly dressed zombies.
