This is totally crazy.

If Trump or these candidates' opponents don't use this against them it will be electoral malpractice.

The attack ads this should generate would be epic.

I can't imagine run-of-the-mill Dems wanting any part of this. If done right the attacks against this should drive a lot more D's into voting for Trump.

It's pretty standard virtue signalling/pandering.

Folks introduce pie in the sky bills that appeal to a very specific group.  Then a bunch of folks courting that group co-sponsor it, secure in the knowledge that it will never get out of committee, much less be voted on but it gives them a talking point.

On the Conservative side this seems to be done most frequently with Abortion limiting bills.
