Title: Ruger releases LCRx in .357
Post by: MillCreek on January 31, 2017, 02:04:21 PM
Albeit with the 1.875 inch barrel.  I hope they subsequently release the .357 with 3 inch barrel.  If so, that will become my new woods/hiking/outdoor recreation gun.

They have a 3" LCR in 38 Special.  It is a bit large for concealed carry and still had 5 shots, but it looked like it was easier to handle and shoot with a little larger grip.  I agree, the 357 in that size wouldn't be too bad.

I have the 1.875" LCR with laser in .38 Special.  It is now my most frequently carried firearm.  I usually carry one of my 2.25" .357 SP-101 revolvers as a woods gun, but would like something a bit lighter and a bit longer barrel.  The LCRx, with the option of single action, would be perfect for that.

No 357 yet, but it would make a good light weight revolver for easy carry.  I guess it depends on what you need it for.

I have a S&W air-weight 38.  I carried it a little, but not now.  I mostly stick with double stack 9mm or 45.  My normal gun is a CZ P07 these days.  I just bought a used LCP with the built in laser.  I figure I can use it for when I wear a suit or something (rare).  I guess if I wore khaki slacks more often, the 38 might see more use.

The .38+p is enough fun for me in the standard model. A 3" .357 lcrx model would be much more appealing to me, and so would a 6 shot version.

I have no use for a snub nose lightweight .357 revolver.    .38 Special does what I need doing.   Now if you look at a 3 or 4 inch revolver, then I'm onboard.

Same. I've come to really like my LCR. Despite having the extra thickness of a revolver over most sub-compact autos, it disappears into a pocket. I also like the light weight for backpacking. I would have an interest in something .357ish with a 3-4" barrel and an LCR-like trigger. Actually, for the outdoor activities, I would love to have something like a Charter .44 Special, but with an LCR trigger.

I watched a Shot Show video, rumor has it a 3" .357 is on the way.  And for the life of me I can't remember which video that was.   [ar15]
