On my chromebook it says the certificate error is because of clock sync.  Suggests that my clock is off (my clock is fine)  Is the server's clock perhaps wrong?  Either from drift, or a timezone problem?

It will be until we get a new certificate, which we can't do until somebody with server side access gets back to Cordex. No one on staff has that access.

I get the warning, click on advanced, then scroll down and click on APS.  Then it pops up.  If I try and reply to something or try and look at a comment on a topic, the warning pops up and I have to go through the same stuff to get back here.
edited to add:  When I clicked on post, back to the warning page and same process again with an additional warning box that if I continue back, it would repeat my post.  But it didn't.  sigh.....

I can't get to the site at all with my Chromebook today because I can't click past the error anymore.

On a PC, you can manually set your system clock to Feb 1 and APS will work just fine.  Might not be worth it, I dunno.  I tried it just to see.

I didn't get the message just now.  I will have to look at work in the morning.

I haven't yet.  I emailed him again this morning.

The issue remains, however some browsers will allow you to ignore the error.

I'm back.

I think.

I logged off and I have been "testing" the site by clicking on my bookmark for it and kept getting the same Will Robinson warning.

Decided to actually log back in w/ password and all.

Looks like it's almost working normally.

I'll back out and try getting in again (with Brave) to see if it's still working OK or if I have to re-log in.

FYI, this morning, gunrightsmedia.org  ("GRM," another Oleg Volk site) is working fine.

Clicking out, let's see what happens when I "bookmark" back in....

Dum-da-dum-dum.

Nope.  Still abgefukt.

Well, backtracking, I guess I'll continue working around the abgefuktkeit because this site is too much fun to just walk away.  (I didn't do it in a huff, just in frustration with the added complication of clicking through the Will Robinson dealie.  Since I retired, I've liked tp keep life "simple.")

Can someone explain how to reduce the security settings in Brave for one particular site (APS)?  I hit that function once accidentally, but don't remember how I got there.  Muchas Danke.

And thanks for your efforts, cordex !

Some browsers let you set exceptions, some don't.   Brave apparently does not.  I haven't found it, if it does.

The security cert. is expired.  Issuer is cpanel, so someone with access is going to have to work through this: https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/360045647074-SSL-Certificate-Purchase-or-Renewal .

(Cpanel is a "server in a box" Internet appliance type package.  It's going to be doing the hosting, probably on a virtual machine somewhere.  We use it here for our mail (and I wish we wouldn't, because the guy who knew how things worked better than me has moved on.))

(I hate dealing with security certificates.)

I got no security issues this morning getting to this site, but once there, it came back up after returning to the main page.  I didn't have to do it when posting this message which I had to do every time yesterday.  Odd.

Site still shows as unsecure at the address bar in Chrome.

Why doesn't http:// work?  It always upgrades or renegotiates or whatever to https, which is where the certificate kicks in.  (Duh, that's why it doesn't work.  I know that.  Why does it do that?)  Even when I explicitly tell it to use port 80.

That used to be the default, but everyone was complaining about the lack of security, so we upgraded to https and security certificates.
