Now here's something that I would support.

Why should the northwest bear the burden of dangerous wild animals? 

Let's start with releasing some wolves in Central Park in NYC and The Mall in DC

Tens of thousands of gray wolves would be returned to the woods of New England,
the mountains of California, the wide open Great Plains and the desert West
under a scientific petition now before the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
About 6,000 wolves live in the lower 48 states, with most of the predators in
the Great Lakes and Northern Rockies. The species was trapped and poisoned to
near-elimination last century and remain endangered except in Alaska, Idaho and
Montana.
In a petition filed Tuesday, attorneys for the Arizona-based Center for
Biological Diversity say the few, isolated pockets of wolves that have been
nursed back to recovery are not enough. The group is asking the government to
return wolves to suitable habitat across the country.

These would be the predatory kind of wolves that follow sleds in the winter-time, right?  The same ones that sneak up and grab and carry off full-grown adults along hiking trails, right?

And since DC is a gun-free zone and it is fully possible to erect a RIFD-sensitive electronic fence around the Capitol, the various House & Senate office Buildings, and the White House, I do not see a problem with this proposal.  My only question is can we get a zoning variance to erect bleachers and IR lighting so folks can watch the wolves in action?

Oh!  I call dibs on the soft-drink concession!

I can only speak for myself.  I support locating the wolves where they can survive by preying on animals of no/little commercial value and that do not create significant emotional turmoil in the general population when preyed upon.

If that species can be easily captured in order to place some sort of electrical control collar, then released back to its natural habitat, so much the better.  Rather than having to attempt to erect fences to keep the prey contained, thus eliminating the need for the wolves to move out of the designated area, the electrical control collars.  That folks who come to observe this natural interaction might approve of seeing the prey reacting to any electrical shocks as they near the boundary is merely a positive byproduct.

Why wait for the government ?  Just capture the ones on your property and haul 'em in the back of your pickup to places further east that aren't as blessed.

i just figured out how to solve the national debt problem.(and have enough cash left over to give every Mexican free healthcare) all we have to do is make all elected officals wear shock collars, and hook them up to 900 number phone numbers, and charge 99 cents to zap 'em once.
