Musketeers!
« on: July 09, 2014, 11:21:12 AM »
New show on BBC America about, you guessed it, the Musketeers.
I figured I'd give it a try, as BBC has a few good series, ie, Copper, Ripper Street, etc.

Anyway, it to start, it wasn't terrible, but not terribly great either. I figured I'd give it a few episodes to see how it shakes out.

The other night I was watching the third episode, when some yahoo pulls a flintlock pistol, and holds it "Gangsta Style".

Jeebus! Who the *Expletive Deleted* do they hire for writers on these shows?

Yes, I immediately stopped it and deleted the show from my DVR queue.
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.

I see the show has D'Artagnan as one of the characters.

His first cousin (paternal side) married the father of my paternal ancestor that came the US.

Copper is more than a bit depressing. Makes one glad to live in modern America, I'll say that much.

Yeah, even the "good guys" are bad. I do enjoy the show though.

So, a reality show?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Yeah, but if you have a show on TV called or about "Musketeers" about 100% of the time it's going to be a Three Musketeer's adaptation or ripoff. ;)

Its on BBC, could have been about British Musketeers.

But yes you are correct, Musketeers usually means something from Dumas.
