I made it to 7:30.  That is the feeding time for my cats.  If I don't get up at that time, or earlier, three of them are standing on my chest.  They can tell time right to the second......chris3

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

We made him wait until my sister got here at 1pm....  It was torture.....

Meany head.  LOL

Got up at 0500 so I can walk to the ship for duty day. Yay 07-12 topside rover. Merry Christmas to me.  =(

Heck, we had to wake the girls up at 8:30.  Me, I've been up since 5.

0630 for me...I got a call from work.

I love the smell of greenbacks in the morning

As merry as the ancient sun and fighting like the flowers.

Was up most of the night wrapping, assembling, various other projects, watching movies...woke up around nine and had to go wkd the kiddos. Weird as they usually start jumping on my head around 7:30 if I'm not busy entertaining them.

But kiddos now have a nicer kitchen than mine, albeit a non-functional one.

My folks did that too but it was usually 0900 - At least they would let us have our stockings with enough stuff to keep us occupied for awhile. =D

When we were kids, we'd be down way too early, and have to wait for Dad to come in from milking.

When we were parents, we delighted in being very leisurely getting up.  Make the kiddies squirm.

This year things were a little discombobulated around here.  Two kids home (out of 5).  The in house presents didn't end up getting opened until 10:45 at night.

I went to church at 9:30AM, because I did not want to be one of these people skipping church just because Christmas fell on a Sunday.  And sat there feeling like I should have stayed home anyway, sick-ish.  I think #1 Son brought some little bit of joy home with him from New Hampster, like he did last year.  At least my gut didn't empty itself the next day, like last year.

In CT, this issue was solved by the fact that presents were opened on Christmas Eve, after dinner and before Midnight Service, and I never got much good loot from Santa (Grandma kinda added in extra presents and a stocking as an afterthought) so i was usually conked out late on Christmas morning anyway.

When I was home for the holidays... well... I don't think I drove Mom too crazy. I don't get up early voluntarily for nothing.

As for this Christmas, my alarm went off at 6 am as per usual, and I dragged my sorry carcass out of bed after hitting snooze two or three times and smoking a cigarette.

The rule when I was growing up, which we now do ourselves, is that you could open your stocking whenever you got up, whether mom and dad were up or not.  Our kids are still young enough that we did make them wait on the stockings until we were up enough to be on the couch to mediate (the 7 year old would try to co-opt her 5 year old brothers ability to open his own stocking otherwise).  But the presents under the tree had to wait until after breafast was eaten, cleaned up, and everyone was dressed for the day.  That inevitably meant having to wait until nearly if not after 10AM.
