AP: Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens was convicted of seven corruption charges Monday in a trial that threatened to end the 40-year career of Alaska's political patriarch in disgrace. The verdict, coming barely a week before Election Day, increased Stevens' difficulty in winning what already was a difficult race against Democratic challenger Mark Begich. Democrats hope to seize the once reliably Republican seat as part of their bid for a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

I'm voting for him anyway. Better a felon than the schmuck running against him

=D Apparently he's endorsed by Colin Powell, too. http://www.adn.com/news/politics/fbi/stevens/story/551875.html
Just a few days ago, the Obamatons had suddenly decided they liked the until-very-recently called "Uncle Tom" Powell, and of course they had always respected him, especially when he was Bush's SecState. ;/
Now he's standing up for Ted Stevens. Colin who?

So Ted Stevens' trial is over.
Caught, prosecuted, tried, convicted in short order.
Fine.
What about Congressman William Jefferson, he who was caught with $90,000 in bribe money - cash! - hidden in his freezer? Why haven't we heard anything about him going to trial yet?
