I constantly wonder if people really believe that kind of social justice warrior imbecility, or if it's all just a big con.
A lot of both, I guess. The author knows good and well that Black Friday fight videos are not some kind of entertainment commissioned by the wealthy. Whether he realizes that the shoppers are not brought in as "tributes," but show up with all eagerness, is less certain. I mean, he does look and sound like a perfect moron.
Also, as one self-described as poor commenter noted, truly poor people don't have the money to go out on Black Friday and get in a fight over an LED TV.
But they're desperate. Desperate, I tell you!
