Kill the nozzle, pull it out and set it on the ground. It will soon go out.
Put the cap on the gas tank. It too will go out.

Hey Oreganians...the green handle is for more environmentally friendly fuel. Yes it costs more and you may require a funnel to use it (those damn oil companies want to make it as hard as possible) but trust me, it's worth the hassle. Many of Europe's cars use it and don't you all want to be more like Europeans* anyway?

The few times I took my previous truck (diesel F250) to OR, I was always paranoid about that. I had a green cap on the tank, and also very clearly stated, "diesel". Then I also did a head swivel to make sure they were getting it right.  :laugh:

At a glance a lot of those were deliberate.  I can't really call holding a lighter down next to the gas an accident.  Another was an LPG fueling station. 

Not saying accidents and stupidity can't happen, but driving on the roads in most cities is much more dangerous than filling up your vehicle with gas.

Good god, even the liberal idiots on the Today show were laughing at Oregonians this morning.

At the end of the segment, one of them commented that sales of electric cars may go up in Oregon, to which Al Roker replied:

"Are you allowed to plug in your own car in Oregon?"

It still screws me up everytime I go visit family in NJ and have to remember to keep my ass parked in the car and wait for the dude to make his way over.

Also, unless it's a truck stop or larger station right off the interstate, remembering that gas and a convenience store is usually going to be two different stops instead of one.

The last few times I had to ride in the backseat from VA to CT, I really hated the stop for gas on the turnpike.

On trips with non smokers I really try to slip off and get my nicotine fix without making anyone wait on me or have an audience (for some reason, a lot of the time, the people I'm with seem to think they should stand out with me and keep me company or something, which bugs me because they are trying to be nice, but foiling my attempts to be nice and keep my smoke away from them) The best way to do this is hop out when they stop to get gas and go stand next to the store.

Can't do that in NJ.  :facepalm: Bad enough to have to listen to my uncle rant about gas prices, the lines to the gas pumps, the idiots who are pumping the gas and everything else, but I couldn't even escape for a few minutes of quiet time with a smoky treat.
