I often write scathing letters which I do not send.

I even put postage on the envelopes but then just park them on a shelf along with all the "Pearl Harbor" CYA letters I wrote to myself when I was working and discovered some ridiculousness perpetrated by the organization.

I got a propaganda piece from the electric company the other day lightly chastising my use of electricity and giving some examples of low usage which they want me to emulate.

Dear Sirs and Mesdames,

I pride myself on prudent electric usage and the fact that I have often got below 100 kWh and I think the enclosed document is a pack of nonsense. Take a look at the back side and you will see that 6 months out of the year I am below that 100 kWh.

This all makes me wonder where on earth you got that "Efficient Nearby Homes" data.  (150 kWh)  Was that some vacant apartment someplace?  I am not kidding.

I would also like to see the data involved in your QR code.

Hey, boys and girls, I hate to sound insulting, and it's nice to encourage sensible use of electricity, but your document smacks strongly of pure propaganda.

I just got my bill for the month.

537 Kwhr for October.

Would have been a bit lower but there were still some days of AC usage.

Lowest I've ever gotten is 430 some KwHr, and that's because I was away for almost the entire month, the water heater was on vacation mode, and the AC wasn't on.

I used 474 kwh last month. This month I am average 14kwh/day.

It almost seems as if every bit of information we get nowadays is laced with propaganda.
