Fitness and working out

For a few years, I didn't really get much nutrition, unless you consider meals mostly made up from Matzah and a condiment nutrition.

Now I'm old enough to get food myself which means I've upped my protein intake from practically nothing to at least a 1/4 lb of chicken per day on average. I feel better than ever, I'm putting on muscle, and I think my body might move out of "OH CRAP WE ARE STARVING DELAY GROWTH" mode. If it doesn't, I can always get some HGH under the table.

My body type is ecto-meso or just straight meso. I'm 5'8 and possibly '9 by now but don't really care to measure. I fluctuate between the high 130s and the mid 140s. I have early onset male pattern baldness which I'm going to pick up some rogaine for and also find out if I inherited my mother's thyroid condition. Sometimes when biking hard, or a year ago whenever I'd try to run, I experience mild temporary angina.

I also seem to only have to look at a physically difficult activity to pack some muscle on. When I started doing pushups almost a year ago, I couldn't do it the first day. The next, I was managing a few. A week later, I could do 20. Now that I've started loading on protein, I'll try going to 50. There's almost nothing that I can't turn into an excercise, even working out an arm / abdominal workout while sitting in my incredibly sturdy oak office chair. (grip arms, push self up from seat of chair, extend legs out as far as possible, twist back and forth while sloooowly lifting up and down in the air.) Now I know why men in wheelchairs are capable of looking like gorillas. I'm also working out to running around with a pair of five gallon jerrycans filled with water, so far I do a walk around my driveway for a few laps, and also lifting them up and down. I did situps frequently until it started making my belly larger, and since dieting to remove the light padding of fat isn't priority, they stopped being a regular thing.

The big thing is that eating completely costs money. My mom was feeding me on poor people food, which was just fine as a diet for a 49 year old woman, but not that good for a growing boy. Right now, I/she can afford good food, so I do it. I'm getting guilt tripped by her making it obvious that she's just eating matzah and salmon for her meals on some days, and I try telling her it's about as nutritious as wonder bread sandwich, but blah. Having a big deal made about my food for a week costing forty dollars is going to start getting to me too.

I'm using 'source of life' liquid multivitamin semiregularly, silica tablets for my nails, and a two month old bottle of Flax oil which honestly is difficult to use because it's a freaking fishy tasting/smelling oil that doesn't really mix well with anything I eat. I might get a young males tablet multi, along with some more protein shakes so I'm less dependant on chicken and red meat.

I haven't been eating many eggs or fish. Greens are still low, and I'm trying to increase them by growing some tomatos, peppers, and greens in my garden. There aren't exactly regular meals around here, which is partially my fault but we're both very busy people. I'm a lover of carbohydrates and coffee.

I really wish I had a local gym with a good trainer and personal cook. Guess it's just another motivation to get rich for. Wink

My main advice to you would be to save the money you're going to spend on growth hormone, Rogaine, and supplements, and use that to buy nutritious, balanced food. With the money left over, if you want to get a trainer, sign up for a semester circuit training class at your local community college.

It is amazing what you can do with proper nutrition and dumbells.  My buddy and I use to always lift heavy until we got hurt, then we were forced to take a break.  Using light resistence exercise instead of heavy weight coupled with a high protien (but balanced) diet will transform your body and self image.

My friend started losing his hair and just cut it all off.  I wouldn't worry about the hair.  Be and live healthy with a good attitude and you will be attractive to the other sex.

The protien supplements work IMHO but it gets very expensive.  You can do well with chicken breasts, eggs etc...

Don't stress about your weight or size, evryone is different.  When in highschool I wrestled at 118 sophmore year.  At 41 I am 6'1 205lb's.  Some people are late bloomers.
