Halloween Costumes
« on: October 25, 2012, 09:34:01 PM »
Was talking with another lady at the doc's office I'm working at about the more interesting Halloween costumes we've seen over the years and it got me to pondering...What's the most creative costume you've seen?

Haven't seen anything lately...most people down here seem to favor store brought costumes.

My halloween costume this year is my turnout gear...with the new Chicago Fire show on it should be pretty popular...I'm lazy and not spending a dime on a costume this year...

Kid at my daughter's grade-school was wearing a home-made Minecraft costume at the "Costume Crawl" they held last week. Green t-shirt, and a box on his head with squares of construction paper for the pixels. Like this:

For all I knew, I was only one in the school who got it.

I promise not to duck.

My hunting trip to WY got cancelled due to weather and lack of Antelope on the ranch, since I am home this weekend wife thinks I need to go to a halloween party with her. I was supposed to be in WY hunting during the day and drinking at night. I really don't want to put any effort into a costume, I probably go bird hunt most of the day and just show up at the party as I am dressed.

With my welding goggles, a set of $4.95 (for 3 pair) of welding gloves from Harbor Freight, and a $2.95 lab coat from American Science and Surplus, Robert will be Dr. Horrible this year.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

My everyday wear would probably be a "costume" in most parts of the USSA  ;/

I used to, when I was drawing a paycheck, participate in the office "Halloween dress-up day" attired as a gruntled state employee.

Nobody ever guessed it - even though it was the same costume every year.

Some folks said they did not guess it because that was not even a fantasy creature but the rabid imaginings of my mind.  I often wondered if they meant that as a bad thing.

stay safe.

I'm going to my brother's party this Saturday wearing a name tag that says "Hello.  My name is Prophet Mohammed".

Hey, nobody knows what he looked like, and it's a ten-cent costume.

I dress up to take my lil one trick or treating.  She gets a kick out of it, so what the heck.  This year, it is "Grim Reaper on Vacation".  Easy enough to do and will get a laugh.

Clair (8yo) old has a long leather duster coat, some corduroys, passable western boots, and a flat brimmed hat with a long blonde braid.
She is Blondie.

I have a sombrero, a hank of jute tied in a noose around my neck, and a big mouth.
I am Tuco Benidicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramerez.

Anybody got a Colt's 1851 Navy brass I can use?

Wife usually interjects when she thinks I have had too much to drink and I think I'm good for many more.

Thus the need for hunting trips  ;)

I vaguely remember a homemade Halloween mask that a guy wore back in college.  It was made of saran wrap and mayonnaise, maybe with a little ketchup.  He was an abortion or a carbuncle or something like that :D  Totally disgusting!
