Spanish phonetic alphabet?

Is there a spanish version of the phonetic alphabet?  You know, like Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc?

I had to explain to someone who barely spoke english how to type a password that was completely random, and the English phonetic alphabet probably confused him worse than if I just gave letters...

Interesting.  I never really noticed that I cannot think of a single Spanish word that begins with a W.

Only used for foreign words (something about bilabial and junk about pronunciation that I don't even understand in English dictionaries, but basically means a subdued "b") in words of German origin, like Wagner or Wolframio, and the semiconsonant "u" in words of English origin, like Washington or waterpolo.

My Spanish-English dictionary includes a whole half a page of words beginning with 'k'. Many are, as you note, related to "kilo." Some of the others are variants of words that begin with 'qu.'

There are NO entries beginning with 'w.' It skips from 'v' directly to 'x' ... and there aren't a lot of those, either.
