Hillary Won!
« on: January 08, 2008, 06:12:58 PM »
The WSJ this morning was talking about Hillary's close advisors recomending an early withdrawal from the race if she didnt do well in NH.  I can't believe people were ready to  count her out so quickly.
I have long had the impression that the media sensationalizes these races just to ramp up news.  I remember the same cycle last time Howard Dean was unstoppable.  Then his campaign fell apart in about 72 hours.
Now after 24 hours Obama is an also-ran and Huckabee is hanging on for dear life.  I would look for more flip flops in the media as ths candidate or that one suddenly develops "momentum."

Good.  Easier to stomp her in the general election than Obama.

What's funny is the media is pointedly ignoring that O-bomb and Hillary got the same number of delegates out of New Hampshire(9 each). Equally ignored is that Huckabee has 31 delegates to McKennedy's 7 he just won in the Repub primary. Also disturbing are the total voter numbers, why even have a republican primary, I don't think any candidate could win that state in the general election.

I don't agree.

Obama is a nobody really. Eventually folks will wake up and realize he's all liberal media hype with no substance. He's done nothing, is in the middle of a 1st Senate term where he's done nothing, and he is about as far left as you can get without wrapping around all the way to the right. There's Dems out there who Obama is too far left for.

Now - as many here have previously noted - for every voter with an IQ of 120 there's one out there with an IQ of 80. Those 80 guys and gals IMO aren't going to be all that impressed with a guy named Obama. They're gonna be wonderin if he's related to Osama. If he gets the nod there's gonna be a lot made about his daddy being a muslim - "hey ain't we fightin' those dudes in Irak or sum place" the 80 guy will wonder. It just goes on and on.

IMO he can't win no matter who runs against him.

As much as I dislike Hillary at least she's got some substance to her - might not be good substance but at least she's got some.

What I found interesting is that ALL the major pollsters blew it - big time. Just goes to show you that the only poll that counts is the one on election day.

Or maybe the voters found that old Mike Royko column . . .  grin

(Better explain . . . Mike Royko was a very well-known columnist for various Chicago newspapers; he wrote an unauthorized and unflattering biography of Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley titled Boss, and is reputedly the source of former California Gov. Jerry Brown's "Governor Moonbeam" nickname. One year, annoyed by all the pre-election and exit polling, he came up with this idea: When a pollster askes you who you voted for - LIE. This will throw all of their projections out the window, and if we keep doing it, we won't have to listen to them trying to project a winner OR influence the outcome.

Pollsters were not amused.)
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I lost a lot of respect for NH voters. It is unbelievable that a self-respecting Repub/conservative can vote for an illegal-amnesty anti-1A socialist dirtbag like McKodos. It just boggles the mind. LISTEN to what he is saying NOW. SEE what he has done in Senate RECENTLY. Just being a Vietnam veteran is not enough. Immigration and campaign finance reform are two issues that should have sunk his wrinkled commie butt.

Don't blame me, I'm one of the few people who voted for Thompson.

We've had a lot of MA people leaking in. That's where the Hillbama votes came from.

I'm just hoping that she gets the nomination. The rest of the candidates will make for some really sucky bumper stickers.

Also disturbing are the total voter numbers, why even have a republican primary, I don't think any candidate could win that state in the general election.

I noticed the huge disparity between the numbers of Democrat voters and Republican voters but I figured it was probably due to apathy more than anything else.
Oh, Lord, please let me be as sanctimonious and self-righteous as those around me, so that I may fit in.
