We're OK.  No power at the office this morning.  Left at 8:45AM.  Wasn't going to wait on the 100+ heat we are having now.

Power at home ok, but I got home and got the news that since I was off there was housework to do.   Boo Hoo.

The Mayor and Fire Department are calling on the elderly to make sure they are ok, have power, etc.

It was a really beautiful storm to see, BTW.  Wild!

Thanks for thinkiing of us.

State of emergency has been declared and there are still a few hundred thousand without power.  This was supposed to be the last day of a week-long heat wave.  They kept predicting a triple-digit high today, but I don't think it got to that point.  More storms expected, so it should cool down a bit.

Anybody heard from Bogie? I wonder if he's holed up in the bunker.

I think I saw him putting out into the Mississippi in his fiberglass wheelbarrow, and with some kind of AR with a funny-looking upper and a short barrel.  Wink

I hope you guys get some federal dollars to assist in the cleanup. We got shot down for federal dollars to help clean up after the nasty tornado in Iowa City this spring, mostly do to there wasn't money to give on account of Katrina.

You only get federal dollars for cleanup if you are sitting around wondering if someone's going to do something, instead of actually doing something yourself...

My only damage was the vent cover torn off the top of the shooting trailer. Of course, I haven't looked at the back of the house yet. I got largely missed, but was in Pacific, MO for a funeral, and things got hit pretty heavy down there.
