Babylon Berlin is a recently added Netflix series out of Germany. I'm only a couple of episodes in, but so far, highly recommended. Set in Berlin in the 1920s and filmed in the Noir style. About a vice cop chasing the Berlin Mafia.
Just very well done cinematography and script. It has both German and English versions. Having listened to them both, even if you don't speak kraut, I recommend setting it to kraut with English subtitles. It's very much like Seven Samurai in that the dubbed version loses something in the translation.

Speaking of Berlin -- how do you lose an 80-meter long wall?

I binged watched season one. Can't wait for season 2. Absolutely loved the music score.

I was confused about this based on IMDB showing seasons 1&2 already out and Netflix only showing season 1. Apparently Netflix combined seasons 1&2 into "one" season. Episode 9 is Season 2, episode 1.
So you (and me) are waiting for season 3. :)
I'm up to episode 10 and liking it more and more. So well done. I actually just downloaded the first of the books to my Kindle in the original kraut. It will be slow reading as I've been letting my kraut slip away, but good reading practice to refresh myself with something of great interest. Reviews have said this is one of the most historically accurate dramas produced regarding the Weimar Republic and the political goings on at the time.
Also those "revolving" elevators in the Castle are a kick. I've not seen that before.

That explains the two distinct investigations.

Apparently Charby and me were the only ones here who watched it  , but season 3 is available on Netflix now. I recommend German language, English subtitles.

Already a few episodes into it
